McDonalds was looking for a way to celebrate their newest entry to the menu, mozzarella cheese sticks. They decided it would be fun to revisit the time periods that each of their now more classic items had been released. The challenge was to present a design aesthetic mirroring a certain time period, but still keep the look clean and modern. We had to avoid the simpler solution of using color washes and grain to help date the image, and rely entirely on the actual content in the image.
