Thursday Night Football is back again for its fourth season on Prime Video. This year, Imaginary Forces evolved the intro once more, continuing the tradition of pushing the look and feel forward with every season. Over the past three years, their collaboration with Amazon and Prime Video has helped shape how fans experience football on streaming, building a visual identity that’s become synonymous with the energy and spectacle of TNF.
I was brought on to help look dev on some CG scenes and animate on others. The final CG export then had to be easily editable in comp, to create custom layouts on a per game basis. Each intro is the same action, but the color scheme, hero characters, and assorted items are all unique for that particular game.
It's always a challenge building CG shaders to render out flat, in a way that looks seamless along side natively 2d elements, illustrations, and this job was no different. That said, the end result came out great.
